Why is Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa the center of the FAKE flyer?

Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa was a stern critic of Nana Akuffo Addo and his travels, especially those that involved the use of private jets. In July 2022, Okudzeto Ablakwa, the current Foreign Affairs Minister, publicly stated on Adom Fm’s Burning Issues that he would resign if a future National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration used a private jet for presidential or vice-presidential travel. Photos of Vice President Naana Opoku Agyemang have emerged showing her emerging from a private plane after her medical visit to the United Kingdom, reigniting discussions about private jet travels of government officials and resurfacing an old video of the Foreign Affairs minister and his stance on the use of private jets.

Although the Minister has not officially made any comments on the matter, our research has shown that Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa did not say these words ‘if I resign, the government will fail”. Neither has he granted any interview in which he was seen saying the words captured on the viral flyer.

Akosua Manu has since deleted and apologised for her post.
