Corrections Policy
Corrections & Updates Policy – Fakenews Ghana
At Fakenews Ghana, our commitment is to accuracy, transparency, and public trust. We recognize that errors may occur despite our rigorous editorial processes, and we believe in correcting them promptly, clearly, and responsibly.
Our Approach to Accuracy
We strive to ensure that every fact-check, report, or infographic published is based on verified data, reliable sources, and contextual integrity. We follow a transparent fact-checking methodology and consult experts when needed.
Corrections Policy
If we discover a factual error in any of our content—either through internal review, public feedback, or credible third-party sources—we will take the following steps:
- Clearly correct the mistake in the body of the article or content item.
- Note the correction at the end of the article (e.g., “Correction: An earlier version of this article misstated…”).
- If the error significantly affects the rating or conclusion of a fact-check, we will update the rating and publish a correction notice.
- If misinformation originated from a third-party source or claim, we will also indicate that source’s responsibility when appropriate.
Updates Policy
We may also update content:
- To add new context or evidence as a story develops.
- To reflect clarified or revised statements from a quoted source.
- When we receive additional information that does not materially affect the original conclusion but enhances public understanding.
Updates that do not involve factual corrections will be labeled as “Update” rather than “Correction.”
